Tamil Nadu Tourism Minister Rajendran conducted an inspection on January 20 at the Tamil Nadu Government Hotel in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore.
During his visit, the minister inspected the hotel’s restaurant, rooms, and bar facilities. He also inquired about the existing amenities and the additional facilities required for the establishment.
Upon learning that the hotel manager, Muralidharan, was irregular in his duties and that the hotel’s revenue was declining, the minister issued an order to remove him from his position.
Speaking to the press after the inspection, Minister Rajendran stated that the visit aimed to assess the hotel’s maintenance and to ensure the proper upkeep of the restaurant, rooms, and other facilities.
The minister also reviewed whether all necessary amenities were being provided to the customers and noted that a few shortcomings were identified. Instructions were issued to rectify these issues promptly.
He further mentioned that staff hired through outsourcing should be properly managed and that they were instructed to treat customers courteously, serve delicious food, and maintain cleanliness in the hotel.
Additionally, the minister stated that inspections regarding permanent employees would be conducted and the findings would be brought to the government’s attention.
