The Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT) in Coimbatore handles cases related to defaulted loans from banks and financial institutions. The position of DRT judge had been vacant since May last year after the retirement of the previous judge.
Until now, the responsibilities of the Coimbatore tribunal were managed by the Madurai DRT judge as an additional charge. In this context, Somasundaram was appointed as the new judge of the Coimbatore Debt Recovery Tribunal on January 20.
