Planetary Alignment Viewing Event Organized at Coimbatore Regional Science Centre

The Coimbatore Regional Science Centre has organized a night sky observation event to witness the rare alignment of six planets in a straight line.

From Earth’s perspective, the alignment of planets in a straight line, known as a planetary parade, is a unique astronomical phenomenon.

On January 25, six planets—Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Venus, and Saturn—will align after sunset. Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn will be visible to the naked eye, while Uranus and Neptune will require telescopes or powerful binoculars for observation.

This rare celestial event can be observed from now until the last week of this month.

To facilitate public viewing, the Coimbatore Regional Science Centre on CODISSIA Road will host night sky observation sessions.

The event is scheduled from January 22 to 25, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Students and the general public are encouraged to participate. For further details, contact 0422-2963025 or 2963026, as announced by the Coimbatore Regional Science Centre on January 21.
