Ramamoorthy (68), a retired security guard from Eswar Sakthi Nagar near Vadamadurai in Coimbatore, receives his monthly pension from the Coimbatore Corporation’s central office.
On Tuesday, his daughter, Banupriya (36), went to the Corporation office to collect his pension for this month.
While climbing the stairs to the pension section located on an upper floor, she accidentally slipped and fell. She suffered a severe head injury and lost consciousness.
Bystanders rushed her to the Coimbatore Government Medical College and Hospital. However, doctors declared that she had already passed away.
Following the incident, Banupriya’s mother, Rajeswari, filed a complaint at the Ukkadam police station on January 22. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
