IT Company Shuts Down Without Notice in Coimbatore – Employees Protest at District Collectorate

Focus Edumatics, an IT company operating in R.S. Puram and Sungam areas of Coimbatore, has reportedly shut down without prior notice, leaving over 100 employees in distress.

The company employed staff who provided online tutoring services to students in the United States. The workforce included employees with experience ranging from two years to over 12 years.

In a sudden move, the company notified employees via email about its closure but failed to provide a clear explanation for the decision. Employees claim that their attendance records, maintained through the HR One app, falsely show no work activity for the past three months, despite them receiving salaries during this period.

However, salaries for the current month have not been disbursed, and long-term employees with over 12 years of service have reportedly been denied any severance benefits. Additionally, none of the workers have received their statutory labor rights.

Today (January 27), more than 200 employees of Focus Edumatics gathered in protest at the Coimbatore District Collectorate, demanding immediate intervention and action. They submitted a petition to the District Collector, urging authorities to address the issue and secure their rightful dues.
