On January 20, 2025, final-year students from Amrita College of Agriculture, located in Kinnathukadavu, Arasampalayam, conducted a workshop in Kulathupalayam to raise awareness among farmers about the challenges of water scarcity and the shift to dryland farming. This initiative was part of their rural training program.
The students informed the farmers about the proper amounts of feed for livestock, methods to produce clean milk, and ways to treat natural diseases such as mastitis and calcium deficiency in animals.
They also discussed value-added products derived from coconuts and milk, which piqued the interest of the farmers. The farmers actively engaged with the students and had their questions answered.
This event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sudheesh Manalil, Principal, along with Professors Dr. Sivaraj, Dr. Sathya Priya, Dr. Reena, and Dr. Naveen Kumar.
