Several civic maintenance and cleaning activities were carried out today (January 28) in Coimbatore’s 27th Ward, including clearing roadside shrubs, cleaning drains, and ensuring waste collection services.
• Roadside Shrubs Cleaning: Shrubs along Beelamedu, from Co-India to Shanti Nagar Bridge, were removed. Ward Councilor Ambika Thanapal personally inspected the site and instructed workers to complete the task promptly.
• Pond Cleaning: A pond in the Nellai Store area, Beelamedu, was cleared using JCB machinery. Councilor Ambika Thanapal oversaw the work and directed the operator to avoid causing inconvenience to residents.
• Waste Collection Inspection: The Councilor also reviewed the waste collection service in the Murugan Temple Street area of Beelamedu to ensure proper daily operations. Roadside garbage was cleared as part of the drive.
• Drain Cleaning and Mosquito Control: Drains along Dispensary Road in Beelamedu were cleaned, and mosquito control measures were implemented. The Councilor emphasized the importance of thorough cleaning.
Ward Supervisor Shanmugasundaram accompanied the Councilor during the inspections.
