Today, November 23, marks the start of Coimbatore Vizha, a nine-day festival running until December 1, celebrating Coimbatore and its vibrant community.
The annual festival, typically held in January, has been rescheduled to align with Coimbatore Day on November 24. This year’s Vizha boasts an extensive lineup of events, including workshops, sports activities, and cultural performances, offering entertainment from morning to evening every day.
Organized by Young Indians, the Vizha unites over a hundred organizations across the city to host diverse programs for children, athletes, entrepreneurs, animal lovers, artisans, and artists. Marquee events include Street Art, a Food Festival, a Classic Car Show, the Pitch startup competition, a marathon, and a Double Decker bus ride.
Today’s highlights feature a morning Classic Car Show and an evening concert by the renowned Jonita Gandhi. Tomorrow, November 24, will see a grand parade on Cross Cut Road in honor of Coimbatore Day. Other major events include a short film contest on November 27, the grand finale of Pitch for startups on November 28, and the closing day festivities on December 1, featuring a Food Festival, the presentation of Vizha awards, and an Art Display.
