Coimbatore City Corporation has commenced the construction of a stormwater drain and a small bridge on Moogambikai Kovil Street in Ward 35, Western Zone. The project, funded by the corporation’s general fund at a cost of ₹14.70 lakh, was inaugurated today, January 29, with a Bhoomi Pooja ceremony led by Coimbatore Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran and Deputy Mayor R. Vetriselvan.
Also present at the event were Western Zone Committee Chairperson Deivanai Tamilmarai, Councilor Sampath, Ward Secretary Kumaresan, party administrators, local residents, and corporation officials, including Assistant Executive Engineer Savitha and Assistant Engineer Rajesh.
