In Coimbatore’s Central Zone, Ward 63, at the Health Inspector’s office premises in Ramnathapuram and Ramalinga Jyothi Nagar, Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner Mr. M. Sivakumar Prabhakaran, IAS, today (January 24) handed over 40 dual-type plastic waste bins to sanitation workers. The bins, worth Rs. 26,000, were provided from the personal fund of the Works Committee Chairperson, Mrs. Shanthimurugan, to aid in sorting and classifying recyclable and non-recyclable waste.
The event was attended by Assistant Commissioner Mr. Senthilkumar, Area Health Officer Mr. Gunasekaran, Health Inspector Mr. Jeganathan, and other municipal officials.
