Sathyabama (77), a resident of Chennai, was traveling by train to visit her daughter in Palakkad. She boarded the train from Chennai.
As the train neared Coimbatore Railway Station, her handbag containing a ring and a cellphone went missing. She immediately lodged a complaint with the railway police.
Following her complaint, railway police conducted a thorough search at the Coimbatore Central Railway Station. They apprehended a suspicious individual, who, upon interrogation, confessed to stealing the elderly woman’s handbag.
The suspect was identified as Tabaleshwar (19) from Balangir, Odisha. Police registered a case and arrested him on January 23, remanding him to custody.
