Members of the Tamil Nadu Farmers’ Association submitted a petition to the Coimbatore District Collector on January 20, demanding immediate implementation of the announcement made in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly regarding the shooting of wild boars.
Led by Tamil Nadu Farmers’ Association President Palanisamy, the farmers met with the District Collector and handed over their petition.
In the petition, they stated that the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly had issued an announcement to permit the shooting of wild boars in order to prevent the losses caused by these animals and to protect farmers’ valuable crops.
The petition further emphasized the urgency of implementing this announcement in Coimbatore immediately, starting from the district itself. It also requested clear guidelines on who will be granted permission and how the process will be carried out.
