Flower prices in the Coimbatore flower market, which had surged during the Pongal festival, have now decreased following the conclusion of the festive season.
Flowers from local and outside districts are brought and sold at the flower market located in RS Puram, Coimbatore. During festive seasons like Pongal and Diwali, the demand for flowers increases, leading to a rise in prices.
For example, the price of jasmine, which sold for Rs. 3,200 per kilogram during Diwali, has now dropped to Rs. 1,200 per kilogram as of January 20. Similarly, the price of jasmine flowers, which was Rs. 1,800 per kilogram, has now fallen to Rs. 800 per kilogram.
