The Kumbabishekam ceremony for the Marudhamalai Subramanya Swamy Temple, located in Coimbatore vada Valli, was held yesterday as part of the ongoing rituals. The temple, considered to be Murugan’s seventh battle camp, attracts thousands of devotees daily from various parts.
The temple had previously celebrated its Kumbabishekam in 2013, and now, after 12 years, the next Kumbabishekam is scheduled for April 4th. In preparation for this, the Balalayam pooja commenced yesterday evening at 4:00 PM with Vinayaka pooja.
At 6:00 PM, with divine blessings, the pooja rituals involved invoking divine energy into the temple’s nine towers—Vinayaka, Idumban, Aadhi Moorthy, Patteeswarar, Maragathambikai, Marudachala Moorthy, Chandikeswarar, Varadaraja Perumal, and Rajagopuram. The sacred energy was carried in pots, and the procession circumambulated the temple, concluding with the first round of Yagna at the Yagasala.
On January 20, 2025, the second round of Yagna began at 5:00 AM with Vinayaka pooja. At 6:30 AM, the sacred energy from the pot was transferred to the carved tower made from the Aadhi tree and was taken for ritual offering. The ceremony concluded with the Maha Deepa Aradhana, with numerous devotees attending the event.
