Samidhas (68), a retired policeman from Tamil Nadu Police, has been tirelessly working towards his goal of running the entire distance of the Earth. Since his retirement in 2014, he has covered 22,800 km, continuing to push himself further.
Originally from Somanaur Samalapuram near Sulur, Samidhas has been running since childhood. During his time in the police force, he participated in various marathon events across India and internationally, winning accolades.
On January 19, he ran 16 km, starting from the Sulur Police Station and finishing at the Karumathampatti Police Station. He was warmly welcomed by the police officers at his destination.
Samidhas stated that his aim was to create awareness about avoiding drugs and quitting smoking through his run. He also emphasized the importance of regular physical exercise for maintaining good health, encouraging everyone to spend some time on physical fitness every day.
The police force expressed pride in Samidhas’ achievement, stating that his dedication to fitness at the age of 68 is an inspiring example for others to follow.
