In the early hours of January 21, 2025, a herd of six wild elephants entered the property of Mr. Devaraj in Nayakkanpalayam near Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore, in search of food.
At the time of the incident, only Mr. Devaraj’s brother was present at the house. Hearing the sounds of the elephant herd, he stayed inside the house, gripped by fear, and refrained from stepping outside.
The elephants consumed cattle feed, oilcakes, and other stored fodder left in the vicinity. They also caused significant damage to coconut trees planted on the property.
The incident was captured on a surveillance camera installed on the premises. The video footage has since gone viral on social media platforms, drawing widespread attention.
